Annual General Assembly of La Fondation GUS
September 18th, 2009

The AGA of La Fondation GUS for the fiscal year 2008 took place September 18th, 2009, at the Mortagne Hotel in boucherville. The three current administrators : Mr. Doris Landry, Mrs. Louise Larochelle et Mr. Serge Blanchette expressed their desire and intent to continue their involvement within the Foundation.

The General Assembly made it possible to revue last year's help cases, allowing to send special thanks to all the GUS franchisees that supported and offered their services to the family victims.

A $ 15 000 donation to La Fondation GUS
August 22nd, 2009

On August 22nd the golf tournament organised by Hockey Old Timer International (H.O.T.I.) was held at the golf club Lachute, in Montréal. This activity generated the considerable sum of $ 45,000, which was distributed within various regional organisations. Mr. Serge Blanchette of Groupe Dijon, administrator of La Fondation GUS and member of the committee that organised the H.O.T.I. tournament in Beloeil, announced that $ 15,000 to be donated to the foundation. Many thanks to Mr. Blanchette for generously recommending our organisation to the funds committee.

A new height for la Fondation GUS
June 5th, 2009

In January 2010, eight people will travel to Tanzania to climb the highest peek in Africa, Kilimandjaro. Amongst them, two are members of the GRoupe Urgence Sinistre head office. This adventure is a personnal challenge for each of them but the goal remains clear: to collect $20,000 for La Fondation GUS.

Each year in Quebec, a number of families without resources are victims of a disaster. These families, mostly led by single mothers, from one day to the next find themselves devoid of their belongings ans penniless. The money the group hopes to gather will help the Foundation finance the purchase of essential household items and thus give back som dignity to these people. Last year, more than $60,000 was donated from the Foundation to eleven families in Quebec..

We hope this expedition will be the first of a serie that will help the Foundation find new sources of financing, because the need is grand and the ressources limited.
